  • Hyundai has introduced its new Pleos Connect infotainment system, which will be launched next year.
  • It is based on the Android Automotive operating system and seems to have an AI infused digital assistant.
  • The company is also preparing to launch a semi-autonomous level 2+ driving system by 2027.

Car manufacturers love to talk about vehicles defined by software, but most make you want to roll your eyes. However, it is worth paying attention because the Hyundai Motor Group has introduced its new brand of Pleos software as well as their new generation infotainment system.

From the latter, the Pleos Connect infotainment system will be launched in the second quarter of 2026 and will be on more than 20 million vehicles by 2030. It is based on the Android Automotive operating system and has a smartphone type interface which promises “unique, personalized and user -friendly features”.

Hyundai has not published many photos, but we can see a large self -supporting screen that echoes that found in Tesla vehicles. This is not the only similarity because the two have equipment and a battery at the top left. The lower row of “buttons” also rocks the Tesla manual and the whole is like an imitation.

Although it can lack originality, Hyundai said that the system will have Gleo AI, which allows intelligent control of smart vocal recognition. Indeed, it seems that we can expect a digital assistant infused at AI.

The company has also mentioned a Pleos ID, which is a user profile connected to each driver. Thanks to Cloud connectivity, the owners will be able to access their profile – and probably their presets – in any vehicle based on Pleos Connect. This means that you could easily load your settings if you need to take your partner’s vehicle for the day.

In addition to the infotainment system, Hyundai invoiced Pleos as end-to-end software platform that incorporates high-performance fleas and controllers, vehicle operating systems, infotainment systems, cloud infrastructure, fleet management and mobility and logistics optimization solutions. The company said that this combination will allow a “range of intelligent mobility functions – such as autonomous driving, vehicle connectivity, real -time data analysis and optimized route planning – offering a basis for improving user experience and maximizing the efficiency of urban mobility operations.”

Level 2+ semi-autonomous driving to come soon

In other news, Hyundai has announced that its level 2+ semi-autonomous driving system arrives at the end of 2027. The automaker has not entered details, but declared that the system “recognizes the environment of vehicles through cameras and radars and makes more complex decisions depending on its decision-making structures”.

If this is like the next level 2+ level of Volkswagen, we can expect hand -free driving on certain roads as well as automatic track changes. We can also expect other functions such as traffic jams.
