  • A BMW in the series 7 used F01 of 2010 was converted into a G70 impostor from 2024.
  • The Indian manufacturers cut the body of the flagship sedan and integrated aftershocks.
  • The result seems rather convincing, although a more in -depth examination reveals some inconsistencies.

In the world of car design, polarization does not always mean pain – it simply means that people care enough to discuss on this subject. And with regard to the last BMW 7 Series (G70), few models have aroused the pot like this. Well, apart, you know, The one whose name will not be spoken.

More: 20 years later, what do you think of the BMW 7 series 7 of Chris Brangle?

However, some unconditional BMW fans are attracted to the new bold look, even if their wallets (or current rides) are not entirely on the same wavelength. A particularly motivated owner in India, for example, has taken matters into hand, transforming an aging 7 -year series into a surprisingly convincing imitation of the last model.

From F01 to False G70

The donating car in question is a S01 of the 7 Series, which BMW built from 2008 to 2015 to 2018. Compared to its predecessor, the sadly on-structure E65, the F01 looked at conservative elegance. It was also less aggressive than the clearer G11 that followed. But with more than a decade of age, the owner decided that it was time for a major visual overhaul.

The transformation was managed by Autokrafte, a personalized bodywork workshop based in Ahmedabad, India. To remove it, the team obtained replicas of headlights, rear lights, bumpers and other exterior panels that imitate the design language of the 70 7 series with surprising precision.

Plus: the new BMW 7-series tries the ends of its predecessors

Of course, the exchange of bodywork between two very different generations is not exactly the plug-and-play. Autokrafte had to cut the whole front and back ends of the F01, reshaping the wings and the hood to accept the new parts with reasonable continuity.

The conversion based on F01 above compared to the real G70 7 series (below).

At the front, the car now presents the fractional headlights of the G70 and a double -legged double box grille. At the rear, the slim LED rear lights update, while the inserts of black bumpers and the matching side skirts imitate the sporting S package. The youthful treatment even includes diamond cutting alloy wheels and a work of metallic black paint / gray with two tones for an additional flair.

Plus: Mitsubishi leaves the sedans, so this gallant obtained a creative facelift

But if you know your BMW, the differences are difficult to miss. The greenhouse, the doors, the handles and mirrors of the cabin are all original F01 parts, creating visual offsets. Look more closely and you also spot panel differences that do not align entirely, and the longer overhangs slightly throw the proportions. The wheels, although elegant, seem a bit small for the new aggressive look.

Autokrafte does not mention any upgrade under the skin, it is therefore prudent to assume that the interior, the chassis and the powertrain are all intact. Prices also remain under Wraps, although serial values 7 used falling like a stone, it is likely that this facelift costs a fraction of the real thing.

A growing trend of budget lifting

DIY and spare lifts like this are more and more popular in Asian markets, offering owners an affordable means of modernizing their vehicles. Some conversion kits are even available online, making these projects more accessible. For example, a Maybach style package for the Mercedes class allows owners to add a luxury touch to their executive sedan without breaking the bank.

As for this particular BMW, the G70 is due to its own refreshment within the framework of the Neue Klasse era. Do not be surprised if this owner swings again by Autokrafte, seeking to remain a facelift before the curve.
