  • Porsche is testing a pair of electric SUVs from Cayenne in Sweden.
  • One of them has active aerodynamic aspects like the 911 GTS T-hybrid.
  • Cayenne Electric made her debut later in 2025, but the ice model continues.

Porsche already has an electric SUV in its range – the Electric Macan – but it is about to give it a big brother in the form of 2026 Cayenne Electric, which is making its debut at the end of this year. Our spy photographers have captured a pair of prototype tests, but far from being identical twins, they have important differences.

The two models always carry the fairly heavy camouflage that we have seen on the previous prototypes in the last 12 months. The disguise covers the parts of the front and rear bumpers and the lower sections of the doors. But that does not prevent us from noting that only one of the SUVs to what seems to be aerodynamic shutters active in the lower bumper, just like those observed on the new 911 GTS T-hybrid. He also has a separator attached to the lowest point of the bumper, suggesting that it is a performance version, perhaps a GTS.

The other Cayenne does not have the lower lip beet or the same active aerodynamic slats (although it is possible that they can still move). Instead, he has a less macho bumper with horizontal bars and the Adas sensor is proud of the surface of the bumper, rather than being embedded, as on the other SUV.

This bumper less focused on performance seems to provide a better approach angle, so we could look at a Cayenne on off-road theme. This idea is saved by the rear arc lips slightly flared on this Cayenne, which are not present on that with the Aero GTS shutters. In addition, confusing the questions, only the non-flap SUV has square vents in its rear lights.

When the complete disguise of the bumper stands out, we expect to see an arrangement of divided headlights, just like that of the Macan Electric and the Q6 e-tron d’Audi and A6 e-tron. These three are based on the same VW Group PPE platform which will also be used for Cayenne EV in standard and cut for forms.

The entry-level cayennes will probably also share their motorcycle groups with mid or high specification macans, which include a 509 hp bi-motor configuration (516 PS / 380 kW) in 4S and 630 hp garnish (639 PS / 470 kW) in turbo granage. And since the Turbo and the Turbo Taycan serve 872 hp (884 PS / 650 kW) and 939 hp (700 kW / 952 PS), we imagine that the hot cayennes will also be powerful.

The Cayenne Electric is not the only EV on which Porsche works. Tout-de-neuur sports cars 718 All-Electric 718 and Cayman Sports are on the way and had to do their debut this year, but this launch could be postponed until 2026 while Porsche clicks with an EV Performance market which did not mature the way it hoped when it started to plan these models more than five years ago.
