The Tesla Takedown of last weekend has been the largest to date with more than 200 planned events which take place across the country as well as internationally in Australia, France, Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom. While many of these demonstrations seem to have been peaceful, things have taken a ugly turn in the meridian, Idaho.
According to NBC NewsAbout 30 demonstrators and 200 supporters converged on Saturday with a Tesla dealer in the city. While the details are blurred, a 49-year-old man would have arrived at the scene in a truck adorned with “pro-Trump flags”.

The nameless man then parked and left his vehicle. Shortly after, Christopher Talbot, 70, would have made an “obscene gesture” and would have hit the man with his car. This seems to have occurred at low speed because the victim was able to go to a neighboring hospital, where he was treated and released.
Talbot was arrested and accused of aggravated battery. According to law firm Schofield and Young, Aggravated Battery is a crime liable to 15 years’ imprisonment as well as a fine of $ 50,000 (£ 38,708 / € 46,216).
The ministry asked witnesses to come forward and reminded people to “respect everyone’s right to protest and express their rights to the 1st amendment without resorting to violence”.
Earlier this month, there was a similar but less severe incident, where a man from Florida would have led his Nissan on a sidewalk and in a crowd of demonstrators at slow speed. No one was injured in this incident, but that led to accusations of serious assault with a deadly weapon without intention.
