The prelude dashboard seems familiar, but some unique features help him to separate from the Civic and the Integra

- Honda showed the interior of the prelude, which shares its switching width with Civic.
- The prelude has a unique dashboard and central console with a button for the S / SHIFT system.
- The hybrid coupé will reach Japanese, European and North American dealers later this year.
More than a year after introducing the prelude prototype at the end of 2023, Honda officially revealed the first interior photos during a special event in Japan. The next hybrid coupe is expected to be launched in Japan, Europe and North America at the end of 2025, serving as an alternative to two more sporty doors to the Civic.
As the previous prototypes show, the prelude borrows several interior components from its platform companions – the Honda Civic and Acura Integra – but it also has some design details.
More: will Honda’s new prelude be the best or the worst of both worlds?
The dashboard, which includes a similar digital dashboard as Civic Type R, takes a cleaner and more modern look. Its central console is higher than you find in the Civic and exchange the traditional automatic gear lever for a set of training controls. A button dedicated in “S / shift” mode is at the front and center, simulating both the sound effects and the couple’s mapping for the changes of false gears intended to give the reader a little more drama.
The digital instrument cluster, the floating infotainment screen and the climate arrangement will be familiar to civic drivers, although climatic vents are more closely similar to the integra. Larger door cards with cut-down style armrests and front seats with integrated headrests and pronounced strengthening give the interlude a more sporty and more personalized atmosphere inside the prelude. The rear seat space seems tight – as expected – but the tailgate in a tailgate opens onto a generous loading area.
Different seats for the driver and the front passenger
A unique feature of the prelude is that the driver and the passenger do not obtain identical seats. Honda says that the driver’s seat is built for support, prioritizing lateral grip during more lively driving. Meanwhile, the passenger seat is designed for comfort, with contours and softer padding. Honda has also paid some attention to the entrance and exit: the side thresholds are finished in a soft touch material, and the doors are carved to prevent your feet from entering it.
At least in the form of a prototype, the interior is cut in a palette of white and navy colors. The front seats are partially padded in a retro -inspired dog fabric, offering a vintage sensation alongside leather accents. The rear bench, on the other hand, is fully completed in black, probably a practical movement, given its limited use.

Setter frame, hybrid power
The new prelude rises on an updated version of the Civic architecture. Honda has shortened the wheelbase, expanded the tracks and increased the rigidity of the chassis while cutting the overall weight. The adjustment of the steering and the suspension was also composed according to its positioning as a more dynamic GT style coupe.
Prelude supply is a hybrid self-loading system built around a newly developed 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine associated with double electric motors. The configuration causes the front wheels and imitates equipment changes via the software, but no real mechanical transmission is involved.
The almost production prototype made its public appearance during an event on the theme of F1 in Tokyo, called “ Red Bull Showrun X, propelled by Honda ”, where it served as a parade vehicle. He was joined by the last Honda 0 Series SUV Concept, which made his debut at these earlier this year. The two vehicles were taken by members of the Oracle Red Bull Racing F1 team.
