  • The Taycan Turbo GT Weissach is the fastest acceleration car from Motor Trend ever tested to date
  • The Porsche has exceeded the Tesla Model S plaid, the lucid air sapphire and the Ferrari SF90 Stradale
  • He established the fourth fastest time of all time on the magazine’s handling course.

Electric cars are no longer just a matter of efficiency – they turn into full performance monsters. Of course, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Ultra can have won damage duties by ahead of the Taycan Turbo GT on a few tracks, but are not mistaken: the Porsche lighthouse is always an absolute weapon. Not only does it offer crazy acceleration, but it is just as impressive in braking and manipulation, as the motor trend recently discovered.

During the Taycan Turbo GT test in Weissach Guise Phare, which abandons the rear seats, the motor trend recorded an astonishing time from 0 to 60 MPH (96 km / h) of 1.89 seconds with its typical deployment procedure. It works at 2.10 seconds without deployment. To put this in context, this sprint of 1.89 seconds is not only 0.05 seconds faster than the Taycan Turbo GT Standard, but it is also 0.18 seconds ahead of the Plaid Tesla Model S, not a small feat. Even the Taycan Turbo GT with four -door tested previously by MT exceeded the Tesla at 60 mph.

Faster

This acceleration places the Porsche before a serious elite competition. He beats the Ferrari SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano at 2.10 seconds and edge of the figure of 2.16 seconds from the Lucid Air Sapphire. In fact, it is now the fastest access car that Motortrend has ever tested in 76 years of history.

The quarter of Mile de Motor Trend is perhaps even more impressive. The electric porsche shot the trail of the drag in just 9.23 seconds to 150.1 MPH. This only follows the lucid air sapphire which established a quarter of 9.21 seconds to 157.1 MPH. As the various models of the model show, it also manages extraordinarily well and is the fastest sedan tested around the publication test course.

In the test, the electric Porsche lighthouse has set a time of 21.86 seconds, pulling an average of 1.03 g. It is the fourth fastest time ever recorded, and only a hundredth of a second behind a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with the Z07 pack, and was close to the Ferrari 296 GTB and McLaren 765LT.

Braking performance is just as impressive. The Taycan Turbo GT Weissach stopped 60 mph in just 93 feet. And when it is time to recharge, the EV is just as effective, requiring only 19 minutes to go from 5% to 80% using a high -speed charger.

At what price, however?

The example tested had a sticker price of $ 233,395. There is no doubt that it is a lot of money, in particular compared to the $ 94,900 ordered by the Plaid Tesla Model S, although it is more affordable than the Sapphire Lucid Air at $ 250,575.
