The Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) accused these car manufacturers of engaging in unfair commercial practices. Last Thursday, the AGCM, with the help of the Italian financial police (Guardia di Finanza), conducted investigations at the Italian headquarters of Byd, Stellantis, Tesla and VW Group.

According to the regulator, car manufacturers have provided “generic” and sometimes “contradictory” information on the driving ranges of their electric vehicles. Although WLTP figures are the standard for the EV range in Europe, the AGCM maintains that companies have not explained “what factors have an impact on the maximum beach announced and the extent to which they affect the real beach” .
