- Mercedes-AMG will soon launch a refreshed version of three of its larger performance SUVs.
- The spy photographers broke the AMG GLS63, GLE63 and GLE53 coupe on test maneuvers.
- The GLS63 and GLE63 stick with 4.0-liter V8s, but the GLE53 obtains a plug-in-hybrid 3.0 Six.
Last week, Mercedes revealed disappointing financial figures and a strategy to make the next more positive ensemble which included the deployment of 19 new combustion vehicles or lifters in the next two years. And our team of espionage photos caught three of them in action and packing up the AMG Performance power plants.
The trio includes the large GLS63 with three rows, its little brother Gle63 and the Gle53 coupe. Despite the camouflage, we can see that each of them obtains the new DRLs in the shape of Mercedes stars and a more distinctive grille with a prominent environment, as seen on the last electronic class. Until the arrival of E Benz Grilles in recent years had no traditional setting.

The star pattern is repeated on the back on the three SUVs and each obtains bumpers and revised air intake to help keep the buyers interested and distract them from the fresher. BMW will soon reveal a new X5 and Audi is finally almost ready to produce a new Q7, a decade after the launch of the current SUV.
Although these cars are all sold under the AMG banner, there are significant differences under the skin. The GLS63 and GLE63 should stick to a 4.0 -liter V8 diet and will certainly not go to the controversial four -cylinder powertrain used in C63 SE performance. With a light hybrid assistance of 48 volts, the 63 current SUVs are 603 hp (611 PS) and 627 LB-PI (850 Nm).
The GLE53, however, adopts a different and more electro-centric approach. While the 53 current sweet hybrid is 429 hp (435 PS) and 413 LB-PI (560 Nm), the presence of a load port on the passenger side of the coupe in the spy blows tells us that it is A PHEV.
But we don’t just have to count on this load flap to find out what is coming. Strangely, Mercedes revealed 18 months ago that the 2026 Gle53 revised would obtain a 3.0-liter and online online motorcycle group making 536 hp (543 PS) and 553 lb-pi (750 nm) of torque. We know that it will reach 60 MPH (97 km for) in 4.6 seconds (against 4.9 for the current 53), but was not informed how far the battery of 31.2 kWh will get a single load .
All these AMG SUVs should make their debut in 2025 as my26 vehicles.
