- The European versions of the C-HR + will be offered with batteries of 57.7 kWh and 77 kWh.
- The design of the new electric SUV looks like the existing C-HR.
- A double engine version of the Toyota C-HR + offers an impressive 338 hp.
Toyota added a new EV to its range, and it is the one that no one has really seen coming. Nicknamed the C-HR +, it is similar on behalf of the existing C-HR sold on international markets, but it is larger and should be sold in the United States next year. So far, it has only been announced in European specifications and slots under the largest BZ4X of the Toyota family.
Despite what the name of the C-HR + could make you believe, it is not based on the gas C-HR and, instead, has the same E-Tnga 2.0 platform as the BZ4X. Unlike this model which is often swept away for its strange looks, the C-HR + is much more elegant and more refined. Whether or not it helps it sell better than the BZ4X remains to be seen, but it is a good start.

The new Toyota C-HR + is on a wheelbase of 108.2 inch (2,750 mm), exactly four inches shorter than the wheelbase of the BZ4X. The brand says that the C-HR + is more suitable for singles and couples, while the BZ4X is a family car. Like the development and construction of new electric vehicles from zero is very expensive, Toyota uses motorcycle group options similar to BZ4X.

Basic models in Europe will include a 57.7 kWh battery and a single electric motor causing the front wheels, offering 165 hp (123 kW). Toyota says that this model will be good for 283 miles (455 km) of range on the WLTP cycle and can reach 62 MPH (100 km / h) in 8.6 respectable seconds. A more powerful FWD version with a 77 kWh pack was also announced, by cutting 221 hp (165 kW) and with 373 miles (600 km) of range while lowering its sprint time from 0 to 62 mph at 7.4 seconds.
Sitting at the top of the C-HR + family will be a two-wheel drive model with 338 hp (252 kW), a 77 kWh battery and a time from 0 to 62 MPH 5.2 seconds. This model has a claimed range of 326 miles (525 km).
Did Toyota electric Americans wait?
Toyota has not confirmed if the C-HR + will be sold in the United States and in a press release published in Carscoops, simply said: “We have no announcement of American products at the moment.” However, the Locally C-HR + offer will help the brand comply with the advanced sales of Clean Car II in six states that come into force for 2026my.
