Mitsubishi has introduced a new limited edition version of the XPander mini-dinner in Thailand, giving it a more sporty look while keeping the familiar hybrid configuration. The XPander HEV Play has a unique body kit with black accents, although it is not delivered with mechanical upgrades.
Launched for the first time in 2017 and refreshed in 2022, the XPander has existed for some time. This new limited edition serves as a means of catching the attention of potential buyers, adding what Mitsubishi calls “Sport premium accents”.

At the front, the extension of redesigned bumper, the greater contributions and the integrated separator indicate something more sporty-perhaps an Xpander Evo, if Mitsubishi felt daring to build one. The grille and the design of the dynamic shield are finished in black, completing the dark divided LED headlights.
The mini-dinner with three rows on black alloy wheels which, although elegant, always seem to be undersized for the proportions of the vehicle. At the rear, Mitsubishi added a black diffuser garnish, a large spoiler and a clear rear lights. As with the standard XPander HEV, the exhaust remains carefully hidden under the bumper.

It is a modest improvement compared to the gas XPander only, which offers 103 hp (77 kW / 105 PS). The power supply is sent to the front wheels via an ECVT automatic transmission.
The XPANDER HEV Play and the XPANDER CROSS PLAY are already available on order in Thailand, at a price of 981,000 ฿ to 981,000 ฿ ($ 29,000).
