  • Lynx announced plans for a legal hypercar of the street based on the first generation Ford GT.
  • The models are planned to have a supercharged V8 which produces more than 1,200 hp.
  • A brochure on their website had contradictory information and a price of $ 1.7 million.

Lynx Motors and Graham Rahal Performance announced its intention to offer a legal version of the street of the racing car Ford Matech Concepts GT1 Le Mans. The story of the rear is a bit complicated, but Matech Concepts has gone bankrupt and Lynx has acquired their assets, and now transforms the first generation chassis into catchy hypercar.

Lynx did not say a lot of substance, but implied that the GT1 on the way will have a wider position, a carbon fiber body and aerodynamic improvements. Judging by the images, we can expect a prominent front separator, ducks and a large rear wing.

We know less from the inside, but a rendering shows an updated cabin with a new steering wheel and what seems to be a wireless smartphone charger. We can also see two -color padding as well as carbon fiber fittings.

It is not much to do, but 28 units should be produced in Zionsville, Indiana by Graham Rahal Performance. Everyone should have a six -speed manual transmission from Ricardo as well as a supercharged V8 producing more than 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1 217 PS).

While the GT1 seems interesting, the Lynx website mentions Gulf and Red Water variants with confusion. These seem to be part of a previous plan, because a brochure indicates that the Gulf of $ 1,700,000 should have a double turbo V8 producing more than 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1 217 PS).

The Gulf had to generate two track variants only, with a Roush engine developing 1,500 hp (1,119 kW / 1,521 PS). Red water, on the other hand, would have 1,400 hp (1,044 kW / 1,419 PS).
