- The compact SUVs of the second generation of VW are making their debut this year.
- The little brother of the Tiguan was again spied on in Europe.
- Recently disclosed images reveal what is under camouflage.
The T-Roc is not the biggest VW model, but it is certainly one of the most important. The compact SUV even exceeded legendary golf course in European sales tables for a while in the early 2020s and there is a good chance that this new second generation version can repeat this trick.
VW launched the current T-Roc in 2017 and its replacement seen here the tests in Northern Europe will benefit from all kinds of technologies not available for the first time, including the last MQB EVO platform and the last tablet touch screen of the automaker with integrated chatgpt assistance.

The disguise on this prototype would make us believe that a thing that does not change for T-Roc 2.0 is the external design, or at least does not change as much. A clever adhesive adhesive adhesive reproducing the appearance of the grille, lights and bumpers on the SUV of today hides the true face below, but unfortunately for VW, images of the uncatfled car disclosed in line recently.
These disclosed images of Cochespias / Wilkoblock show that the T-Roc adopts a frontal design very like that of the new Tiguan and Tayron, with a positioned horizontal led bar where the upper grille was located, and connecting thin and slightly unhealthy headlights. The cooling air comes exclusively via the enlarged lower grille, which adopts a gigantic honeycomb pattern on R-Line models. Basse-Basse garnishes will probably receive a dull grille treatment.
It’s the same story at the back. The disguise on the prototype wants us to think that the rear lights are entirely separated from each other. However, the disclosed images confirm that the bulges visible on the rear spread of each side of the Rondel VW (which, like the front, will be illuminated) are due to a second led light bar crossing the width of the tail.
The range of engines will be made up of hybrid and hybrid light plug-in engines and buyers can expect a choice of front traction and all wheels. The T-Roc Cabrio will not come back and we are still waiting to know if the R will make another appearance. But a new option for the second generation SUV is an electrical powertrain, although the T-Roc EV will be built around a fully different platform.
