  • BMW introduced the X7 Nishiki Lounge concept in Japan.
  • He celebrates Japanese crafts and pays homage to the night sky.
  • The model has a two -color exterior, a unique garnish and a personalized central armrest.

BMW celebrates Japanese crafts with the new concept of Nishiki X7 lounge. It is the last of a series of modified vehicles and it embraces the idea of a “relaxing space filled with beauty, where the stars sparkle”.

Although this is clearly visible inside, the exterior has an individual BMW velvet body which contrasts with a superior section of silver space, which is supposed to represent “the brilliance of the nebulae which shines in space ». They are joined by Crystal Light headlights and an emblematic glow grille.

More important changes occur inside where there is a personalized aluminum garnish by Rakugei Kobo. It looks like a star nightclub and has been created via a special process that sees the lacquer used as an adhesive. The lacquer is also used in variable quantities and this modifies “the shine and the color of the aluminum foil”.

The catchy central console has the Kuska fabric and an aluminum foil effect, which is designed to recall sparkling stars. It also shrinks gently while the thickness of the leather goes from 4 mm to 2 mm.

Finally and above all, there are special floor carpets created by the manufacturer of textiles Kawashima Selkon. They represent the universe and were created using an “Ikat dye” process.

Aside from the special keys, the concept of the Nishiki X7 lounge has been equipped with a panoramic sky roof which includes 15,000 LED accent lights. The model also has a sound system Bowers & Wilkins Diamond and made crystals.

BMW did not mention the performance specifications, but the concept seems to be based on the X7 xDrive40D. This means that the crossing is probably powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine producing 347 hp (259 kW / 352 PS) and 531 LB-PI (720 nm) of torque. It allows the standard model to accelerate from 0 to 62 MPH (0-100 km / h) in 5.9 seconds.
